A Gluten, Casein-Free Banana Split Party
We had a gfcf banana split party.
Our ice cream of choice was Soy Delicious. I try to avoid soy, but I don't like the Rice Dream as much.
We made strawberry syrup.
16 oz bag strawberries, thawed
sugar to taste
2 tsps. cornstarch
Drain the juice from the strawberries into a saucepan. Mix with cornstarch and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add the strawberries. Smash with a potato masher. Add sugar to taste, I think I added about 1/2 to 3/4 a cup. Heat through
We made chocolate syrup
1 cup semisweet gfcf chocolate chips
3/4 cup vanilla -flavored almond milk
Cook over low heat stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and sauce is smooth.
We made marshmallow sauce
18 marshmallows
1/2 cup vanilla - flavored almond milk
Cook over lowest heat stirring constantly until marshmallows completely melt.
(This kept seperating but tasted great)
Put your ice cream in a bowl. Add your banana and favorite sauces. We also added chopped peanuts and chocolate sprinkles.
There is a way to make whipped cream out of coconut milk. We didn't do that, but if anyone wants to know how, I will gladly answer that question.
